Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Data & OT Systems Expert to join our growing consulting practice. This individual will act as a bridge between manufacturing customers and our internal data engineering, data analytics, and data science teams. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in operational technology (OT) systems, with hands-on experience working with SCADA systems, IoT sensors, and other telemetry data sources in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison between manufacturing clients and internal technical teams.
- Translate operational requirements and pain points into data-driven solutions.
- Analyze and model OT data from SCADA systems, PLCs, IoT sensors, and other telemetry sources.
- Work with data engineers to design and implement pipelines for ingesting and transforming raw sensor and control system data.
- Collaborate with analytics and data science teams to derive insights and build predictive models using time-series and machine data.
- Provide guidance on the integration of OT data with cloud-based data lakes and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Lead client workshops and discovery sessions to map OT data flows and define data architecture requirements.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial data environment.
- Deep understanding of SCADA systems, PLCs, MES, DCS, and industrial IoT (IIoT) ecosystems.
- Experience working with time-series and telemetry data from sensors and control systems.
- Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Modbus, MQTT).
- Strong experience with data modeling and transforming OT data for analytics use.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern data warehouses (preferably Snowflake).
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Experience supporting cross-functional data teams and managing client engagements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in engineering, computer science, or industrial automation.
- Experience with streaming platforms (e.g., Kafka, Spark Streaming, Azure Event Hub).
- Familiarity with asset performance management (APM) or digital twin technologies.
- Consulting experience is a plus.
